Injured in earthquake in New Zealand: Two people were seriously injured when a severe earthquake in New Zealand. According to hospital data several people suffered minor injuries such as cuts, bruises or broken bones. The most affected city of Christchurch on the South Island called a state of emergency. The quake measuring 7.1 destroyed buildings, bridges, roads and cars. The public transport was disrupted. In Christchurch cases of looting have been reported. The police closed off the downtown area.
